CLIENT CASE | Training managers
Leadership Training for young managers
Client: European Restaurant Group (German branch)
Role: Trainer and Facilitator
Format: 3 in-person trainings in Berlin (14 participants)
Timeline: November 2024 – January 2025
Developing young managers in hospitality
Partnered with the HR team of a European restaurant group to design and deliver a series of leadership trainings for 14 managers from restaurants across Germany, alongside colleagues from HR and communication. The program focused on the challenges of young leaders trusted with high responsibilities.
Process
To ensure the trainings were both relevant and impactful, I worked closely with the HR team at every stage:
- Defining the content together with HR, prioritizing the most pressing leadership challenges.
- Designing each session with clear learning objectives, using Bloom’s taxonomy as a framework for progression.
- Delivering the trainings in an engaging and experiential format, blending interaction, practice and reflection.
Training topics
The program was structured as a series of monthly sessions, each focused on a key area of leadership:
- Critical Thinking: building awareness of decision-making biases, introducing problem-solving frameworks, and encouraging reflection from multiple perspectives.
- Emotional Intelligence: exploring its importance in leadership, developing self-awareness, and practicing self-regulation techniques.
- Team Communication: examining different communication styles, applying dialogue-oriented leadership, and strengthening active listening.
Structure of the trainings
Each session was designed to be immersive and practical, ensuring participants could immediately connect learning to their daily reality:
- Icebreaker – setting a comfortable atmosphere and encouraging participation.
- Content delivery – providing foundational knowledge and key insights.
- Practical exercises – applying concepts through role plays, group activities, and reflection.
- Wrap-up – consolidating learning and gathering feedback
Impact
The managers left with concrete tools to approach their roles more confidently:
- Sharper critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- A stronger sense of self-awareness and emotional regulation.
- Improved communication and collaboration across their teams.
